As lead educators, we are sometimes called upon to engage in very difficult conversations with teachers, parents, students, or other members of the religious school community. Depending upon the situation, we may have time to prepare ourselves for these conversations, and we may not. We'll discuss strategies that we can use to present clear messages while still helping all parties to feel valued. This 9:35 am to 10:30 am. breakout session is designed for Education Directors, Executive Directors, Clergy, Family Engagement and Membership Professionals.

We will discuss the classroom management challenges that are often present in the religious school environment, and focus on strategies that will proactively address those challenges so that students are more engaged in learning. This 10:40 am to 11:35 am breakout session is designed for teachers of all grades.
Dr. Lynn Glickman began her career as an educator back when she was a religious school machon in 1983. Since then, she has served as a religious school teacher, camp counselor, public school teacher, elementary school principal, and district level administrator. She earned her BS and MA at University of Illinois, and her EdD at Northern Illinois University. She enjoys giving back to her work community, and thus serves as the President of the Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators, As the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in Community Consolidated School District 21, she focuses her work on helping adults support students.
