This workshop will begin with some basics, including the difference between sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as terms and definitions such as gay, lesbian, pansexual, transgender, queer, and others. We will then discuss concrete steps that educators can take to create safe, inclusive, and comfortable learning environments for students of all genders and sexual orientations. Finally, we will practice several activities that open up exploration and discussion of these topics which can be used with students. This 10:40 am to 11:35 am breakout session is designed for teachers of all ages
